8 ways to show your wife that she’s your top priority

8 ways to show your wife that she’s your top priority
Here are 8 great ways to let the lady in your life know that she’s #1!
  • A real man makes sure his wife knows she is his top priority. Here are 8 surefire ways to keep your wife in the top spot:
  • 1. Undivided attention

Put that iWhatever down, shut off that video game, fold up the newspaper, and turn off the playoffs. If you want your woman to know she’s the most important thing in your life, give her lots of one-on-one time with undivided attention.

When your focus is shifting between her and other distractions, it can make your girl feel like she’s playing second fiddle to whatever else you’re doing. Don’t multitask when you should be spending quality time with her.

  • 2. Active listening

Pay attention, take in information, process it and respond. Listening is more than staying quiet while you wait for your turn to speak. Really focus on what the woman in your life is trying to convey to you. Make the effort to understand what she says from her perspective so what is important to her feels important to you.

  • 3. Little things

Little things go a long way. Small gestures of appreciation will mean a lot to your lady when given the thought they deserve. Make your partner eggs the way she loves them, get her a gift card to her favorite store, or even make a coupon book for hugs, kisses and other shows of affection.

Grand gestures have a place but the smallest considerations on a daily basis will keep the fires burning between the big celebrations.

  • 4. Stay approachable

Make sure your lady love knows she can come to you with anything. It’s not enough to openly ask her what’s wrong when you see her brooding, she has to know in her heart shecan come to you at any time, no matter what the case is and no matter what mood you’re in. And when she does come to you, beapproachable. Stop what you’re doing and listen, calmly, contently and with concern. Always create a safe space for her in you.

  • 5. Take a break

We all deserve a little rest and relaxation, so show your woman some appreciation by planning family vacation and solo vacations.

Traveling to fun destinations with the household is a great way to invigorate family bonds, but sending her to a weekend getaway on her own will let her know you care about her as an individual and want her at her best.

  • 6. Continued courting

Never stop dating. Ask her out on fun, adventurous and romantic dates as if you’d never gotten the prize. Let her know you’ll keep working for her even though she’s already yours. A wanted woman is a happy woman.

  • 7. Joint decisions

Always consult your wife before making big decisions that affect you both. This can be tough however if, for example, you are an entrepreneur and your wife is not a partner in the business. Decisions must be made frequently and sometimes on the fly, and they can have a huge effect on your home life. Although these business dealings or other decisions may not directly concern your life partner, if they affect her at least try to run things by her before committing.

  • 8. Constant consideration

A woman who knows she’s loved knows her husband is always thinking about what she needs and what is important to her. This could be large or small considerations, but consistency is the key.

Maybe she likes a particular fragrance of flavor, has a favorite style, or prefers handcrafted knickknacks to fancy jewels. Make sure whatever you do for her is tailored to what she really cares about. After all, it’s the thought that counts.

Keeping your wife #1 takes work but should never be a chore. Letting your woman know she’s your main priority and doing so with enthusiasm and pride will keep you both happier and more fulfilled in life and love.

Riding the Brakes #Parenting

Riding the Brakes
I see parents all the time who are working very hard to correct their children, but they don’t realize it doesn’t have to be so hard. If they would invest more time in building a relationship—hit the gas a little harder—they would discover it’s much easier to steer.

That analogy poses the question: What gets in the way of building a relationship? Sometimes we blame our lack of time, because we’re just too busy. In the analogy, that’s like running out of gas. Other times we blame our children’s stubbornness. They don’t want a relationship with us and push us away. That’s like having a flat tire. We’re not going anywhere until we pull off to the side of our paths and change an attitude or two.

“But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: “God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.””

‭‭James‬ ‭4:6‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Both our lack of time and their stubbornness can be factors in why the relationship isn’t gaining much acceleration. However, I’d like to suggest another reason, one I think is actually much more common than we recognize. Many parents are riding down the road with one foot on the gas and the other foot on the brake. And the name of that brake pedal is pride.

Three times in God’s Word, pride is linked to resistance. Peter and James both tell us, “God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble.” The writer of Proverbs says, “Toward the scorners he is scornful, but to the humble he gives favor.” I don’t know about you, but I’m thinking that if God says something three times, it must be really important to Him. Here’s my paraphrase: in a relationship with God, humility hits the gas and pride hits the brakes.

God warns us repeatedly about pride because it destroys our relationship with Him. God does not want your life to implode into self-centeredness like a black hole that collapses into nothingness under its own gravity. But it’s pretty hard to worship your Creator when you are High Priest of My Way in the Temple of Me.
*Do you see pride or selfishness in your own life that is affecting or being picked up on by your child?

The Sorcery Code (The Sorcery Code: Volume 1)

by Dima Zales (Author)

A book about magic.

-The sorcery code is a book about magic.
I’m not a big fan but decided to review it anyways.

If you like stories about sorcery than this book is for you! Although There is a lot of better potential for the story.

Blaise, an outcast, of his own choosing, a once respected member of the Sorcerer Council, creates a powerful “being”, Gala. He wanted to create a special object that would be magical enough to share with all the peasants so they would have the means for their crops. He felt it was important for anyone to do magic.

—————

Once a respected member of the Sorcerer Council and now an outcast, Blaise has spent the last year of his life working on a special magical object. The goal is to allow anyone to do magic, not just the sorcerer elite. The outcome of his quest is unlike anything he could’ve ever imagined – because, instead of an object, he creates Her.

She is Gala, and she is anything but inanimate. Born in the Spell Realm, she is beautiful and highly intelligent – and nobody knows what she’s capable of. She will do anything to experience the world . . . even leave the man she is beginning to fall for.

Augusta, a powerful sorceress and Blaise’s former fiancée, sees Blaise’s deed as the ultimate hubris and Gala as an abomination that must be destroyed. In her quest to save the human race, Augusta will forge new alliances, becoming tangled in a web of intrigue that stretches further than any of them suspect. She may even have to turn to her new lover Barson, a ruthless warrior who might have an agenda of his own . . .

9 things you should never say in a fight with your child

9 things you should never say in a fight with your child

Getting into arguments with your kids is inevitable, but when things start to heat up, avoid these nine phrases like the plague.
  • Disagreements between you and your children are a fact of parenthood. When aging children begin asserting their independence, things can quickly turn for the worse when your “not-so-little ones” become blatantly disobedient and disrespectful. When it comes to fighting with your kids, fight fair by avoiding these nine phrases at all costs:
  • 1. Profanities

Profanities are a total no-no. Don’t fire back when your child hurls these at you. In the end, you are the adult and everything you do is teaching your child how to behave when he reaches adulthood. If you throw out profanities during a fight with your child, he’ll do the same to your grandkids.

  • 2. “You’re/You’re a (insert any insulting label here)”

Part of fighting fair is constructively expressing your real feelings and concerns and then working toward resolving them. Labels and insults do neither and only cause hurt feelings or increased anger. These words stick to your child like glue and may greatly affect his relationships and self-esteem for years to come.

  • 3. “I never wanted you,” or “I wish I never had you!”

It’s easy to rebut the classic kiddy tantrum, “I wish I’d never been born,” with one of these doozies. But don’t drop that bomb. Questioning the validity of your child’s right to exist is never a thought you want to implant in his mind — and it may come back to haunt you if he tries to make it a reality.

  • 4. “You were a mistake,” or “You ruined my life!”

Blaming your child for being here doesn’t make sense and doesn’t make you look mature enough to be a parent. Being born was not his decision — it was yours. And even in the heat of the moment, making such an ugly claim says more about you than it says about him.

  • 5. “Why can’t you be more like __?”

Comparing your wayward child to a more upstanding citizen is easy when he hits those tumultuous teen years. But your child is just trying to find himself. He is who he is, and asking him to be someone else is the same as telling him, “You’re not good enough the way you are.”

  • 6. “I hate you,” or “I don’t love you!”

Let’s hope neither of these statements is true. Pointless and tactless, they just create a greater divide between you and your beloved child. Even if they are true, they still don’t need to be said — and it might be time for counseling!

  • 7. “Shut up, I don’t care!”

Listening is much harder and much more important than speaking. What caused the argument in the first place is likely a breakdown in communication, so reinforcing the point that you are unwilling to listen to your child will only further the insult and injury.

  • 8. “I’m leaving,” or “I’m not coming back!”

Your child needs you, no matter how much he claims he doesn’t. Don’t ever give your child a reason to feel abandoned. If you need to step outside to get some air, do it. But don’t take your keys, and give yourself a time frame in which to return. Then, come back!

  • 9. “Get out!”

Your child needs a safe haven to call home and a comfortable place to rest his head. Ripping this away from him is not only against the law, it causes catastrophic damage to your relationship. And your child may not be so willing to return when you’ve calmed down and want him to come back.

Keeping your wits in the midst of a meltdown with your kid takes grace, patience and immense amounts of self-discipline and self-control. But as the parent, this is the responsibility you took on when you started your family. Be the adult, and make sure every argument works toward a resolution — and remember to keep those unkind words to yourself.

What are your secret fears?

A 365 Day Challenge Day #28

Preparing the Way

Look, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to each person according to what they have done. Revelation 22:12

Things aren’t right here on planet Earth. We all know this. Sickness, poverty, injustice, and oppression are not God’s intention or design. Many of our prayers will be devoted to fixing what is wrong in our bodies, our finances, our relationships, our world. The children of God continue to pray, even though many wrongs have not yet been corrected. Does it do any good? Does all this praying have any traction with God?

The Bible describes a time when God will come to earth to make all things right. What does He do first? He gathers up all the prayers of His people and pours them out on the earth. In other words, your prayers, combined with the prayers of good people throughout the ages, are preparing the way for God to fix everything that’s broken in our world. Your prayers are helping to craft a new world, where everything is the way, it should be. God’s perfect design for humanity and creation will be restored to earth once again.

God, here’s what I look forward to You fixing…

The injustice of this place.
The unkindness.
The lack of love.
The insecurity.
The way people judge each other.
I also look forward to you fixing my life in general.

Intimate Friendship with God

What you’re after is truth from the inside out. Enter me, then; conceive a new, true life. Psalm 51:6

God longs to be your most intimate friend. He can be trusted with your most guarded secrets. Your prayers form the fabric of a closer and closer relationship. In your conservations with other people, discretion will guide you into being selective with what you share depending on the nature of the relationship. But those filters don’t apply when it comes to your time alone with God. You truly can share anything with Him.

What are your dreams? What are your secret fears? All those things that are most personal about you are safe with God. As you invite Him into all these hidden places in your heart, you’ll find yourself becoming stronger as a person because His reassuring presence will fill those places inside you that are most fragile.

Making yourself vulnerable to God actually makes you less vulnerable as a person because that spiritual intimacy becomes a source of emotional strength. Talk about anything with God and don’t be afraid to go into those things that matter most to you.

God, the secret I want to share with You is….

I’m afraid, I have a lot of fears, and most of the time I have no strength, but I keep going. Day by day with your help.

The perspective that changes Everything

A 365 Day Challenge Day #26

The perspective that changes Everything

The fear of the Lord _ that is wisdom, and to shun evil is understanding. Job 28:28

Understanding God’s true place in the universe gives your prayers depth they would not otherwise have. As you ponder the certainty of His victory over evil, as you consider how deeply He cares, your own confidence in God’s answers to your prayers will grow, and the nature of your prayers will change. You will begin to see things from an eternal perspective and long for the same things that God Himself desires.

The Bible calls this ” the fear of the Lord.” This is a settled determination never to go against the Almighty, a reverential awe for His majestic presence and purposes, a healthy respect for His power, and a complete trust in the goodness of His motives; an understanding that God really does know best. As you pray from this perspective, your fear of people and circumstances wanes, your faith grows, and your doubts diminish. You begin to see how God can use even a small person to make a big difference, and your prayers will echo God’s deepest desires.

God, show me who You really are, especially with regard to…

It’s been a little over 2 years and I’ve been praying and waiting.
Show me who you really are God. Make a difference in my life. I need my confidence in God to grow. It’s been a true struggle and frustrating moments. Help me look into the future and not the past.

A 365 Day Challenge Day #27

A Beautiful Aroma

Let my prayer be counted as incense before you, and the lifting up of my hands as an evening sacrifice. Psalm 141:2

In the process of selling a home, sometimes real estate agents ask their clients to bake bread just before the house is shown to a prospective buyer. Why? Research has shown that certain smells, such as fresh-baked bread or cookies, attract buyers, while other odors, such as chlorine bleach, repel them.

Did you know that your prayers actually have a beautiful aroma? The Bible describes the prayers of God’s people as “golden bowls of incense” in heaven carried by the angels into the presence of God. God loves the smell of your prayers. What you share from your heart is honored in heaven and long remembered by God.

There isn’t anything you need to off to make your prayers more attractive; they already are beautiful to God because they come from an honest and sincere heart. It’s eloquence of the spirit not vocabulary that matters to God. Trying to impress Him is a useless exercise. He hears and He answers because He cares deeply about you.

God, what is on my heart today is…

I woke up this morning with a lot in my heart. I was grateful God answer prayers. I have been asking for closure on an ongoing matter in my life and just this week I received a letter. It wasn’t closure but, it’s the beginning of the end, and I was very happy. In my heart today I’m asking God to see me through. I need this to be resolved and soon.
